• Minimale und maximale Standards:
  Wenn Fremdgruppen relativ zu maximalen Standards bewertet werden, führt das zu einer relativen besser oder schlechter Bewertung in Abhängigkeit vom Ausmaß der wahrgenommen Fremdgruppenabweichung. Dementsprechend reichen Verhaltensweisen von relativen harmlosen Reaktionen zu schwerer Abwertung der Fremdgruppen. Im Gegensatz dazu führt eine Bewertung von Fremdgruppen relativ zu minimalen Standards zu einer absoluten Fremdgruppenbewertung als gut oder schlecht, was zu harschen Bestrafungen oder sogar dem Ausschluss von als abweichend wahrgenommenen Fremdgruppen führt. In diesem Projekt wird der Einfluss von minimalen und maximalen Standards auf moralische Emotionen und die explizite negative Behandlung von Fremdgruppen untersucht.
• Akkulturation und Beziehungen zwischen sozialen Gruppen:
  Akkulturation bezeichnet den Kontakt und wechselseitigen Einfluss von sozialen Gruppen im Migrationskontext. Akkulturation ist ein spezifisches Beispiel für den generellen Fall, dass soziale Gruppen sich gegenseitig bewerten mit Bezug auf eine gemeinsame Gruppe (z.B. unsere gemeinsame Gesellschaft), die den Standard für die inkludierten Gruppen darstellt. In diesem Projekt wird der Einfluss von Akkulturationszielen auf die Beziehungen zwischen sozialen Gruppen (Minorität, Majorität) untersucht sowie auf gruppenbasierte Emotionen, Vorurteile und soziale Diskriminierung, Toleranz und die positive Wertschätzung von Unterschiedlichkeit.
  
  
• Evolution der Autoritarismus:
  Autoritarismus umfasst Konventionalismus, autoritäre Submission und autoritäre Aggression. Autoritarismus wird typischerweise als ein zentraler Faktor für die Erklärung von Vorurteilen und Intergruppenkonflikt aufgefasst. In diesem Projekt wird untersucht, inwieweit Autoritarismus sich aus generellen Gruppenprozessen entwickelt, die die Kohäsion und Kooperation innerhalb sozialer Gruppen fördern. Es werden Reaktionen auf Eigengruppenabweichler untersucht, sowie moralische Emotionen, soziales Lernen und Konformität. Intergruppenvorurteile und -konflikte entstehen nach diesem Ansatz dadurch, dass nicht nur Individuen sondern ganze Gruppen als abweichend von gemeinsamen Normen und Standards wahrgenommen werden können.
